Generations Connect

Generations Connect Contra Costa is a project to promote online safety, strengthen intergenerational relationships, and prevent interpersonal violence through building community connectedness.

Why is an intergenerational approach important?

  • Younger and older people often report feeling lonely and a sense of isolation.

  • Younger and older persons are at increased risk of online safety issues such as scams.

  • Intergenerational approaches build community connectedness (Call to Action Goal 4).

This initiative aims to address these issues and provide a platform for people of all ages to come together, build relationships, and be supported as change agents to prevent interpersonal violence in our communities.

Generations Connect will run from February - June 2021.

The project will include sessions online focused on online safety, intergenerational leadership, and result in projects that teams develop and implement together. Stipends will be provided. If people face a barrier to participation due to technology, support will also be provided.

People are invited to apply to participate in the project here - https://tinyurl.com/generationsconnect
